Located in Edirne, Tunca bridge is one of historical bridges in Turkey. Spread over Tunca River, it connects the road from Edirne to Karaağaç region. The bridge was constructed between 1608-1615 by architect Sedefkar Mehmet Aga, who was also designed the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque) in Istanbul. Later on, the bridge was presented to Sultan Ahmet I. With the length 136.30 meters and width 6.90 meters, the bridge has 11 abutments and 10 arches, and small tower in the middle. Some parts of the bridge had been damaged due to frequent floods, but it has been repaired in 2008.

Terletak di Edirne, jembatan Tunca adalah salah satu jembatan yang bersejarah di Turki. Terbentang di atas sungai Tunca, jembatan ini menghubungkan jalan dari Edirne ke wilayah Karaağaç. Jembatan ini dibangun oleh arsitek Sedefkar Mehmet Aga, yang juga merancang Mesjid Biru (Mesjid Sultanahmet) di Istanbul. Setelah pembangunan, jembatan ini diberikan kepada Sultan Ahmet I. Dengan panjang 136.30 meter dan lebar 6.90 meter, jembatan memiliki 11 penyangga dan 10 lengkungan, dan sebuah menara kecil di tengah-tengah jembatan. Beberapa bagian dari jembatan pernah rusak karena banjir yang kerap datang di wiayah tersebut, namun kerusakan tersebut telah diperbaiki di tahun 2008.

Unfortunately, they don’t, Tina. The new bridges are constructed in modern way, by using concrete, tensile structure, etc. Thanks for your lovely comment.
