
I had written about Balat here and here (in Indonesian). I had explained why I fell in love with the neighborhood with its full-color house and melting culture. I had taken many photos there, but photo with the angle above had became my favorite one. It doesn’t show its own neighborhood only, but also how different this old neighborhood compared to the new ones where only separated by the river.

An interesting photo – as you say, of two different parts of the city. As almost always, I prefer the old part and old structures. But, put together a fascinating result!
